The boys beat the 14 division I schools at the Westerville North XC Classic outdistancing second place Worthington Kilbourne by a score of 42-104. Junior Jake Ethridge led the pioneers placing fourth in a time of 16:13. Alex Kenish (5th-16:25), Cole Benishek (8th-16:31), Cody Moore (12th-16:49), and Lincoln Weber (13th-16:52) rounded out the scorers. The Varsity team only had 39 seconds separating their scoring runners to help them take the title. Sophomore Bryan King and senior Jay Shin had big personal bests times of 17:04 and 17:06 to place 19th and 21st. Freshman Luke Woolard led the JV team to a second place finish, placing 6th in the JV race in a time of 18:10. The JV boys had a 20 second spread separating their 1-5 scorers.
The boys will be back in action this Saturday at one of the largest meets in the country, the Tiffin Cross Country Carnival at Hedges Boyer Park in Tiffin, OH. The Boys Varsity B Race is at 3:35pm, the Boys Varsity A Race is at 4:30pm, and the Open/JV Race is at 5:25pm.
