Boys soccer had an incredible 2018 season, finishing with a 7-7-3 record. They had 47 goals for and 44 goals against, improving massively from last season. The Pioneers had seven seniors on the team, another big difference from last season, where they had 15.
Orange finished 1-3-1 in conference play, beating Olentangy 2-0 and tying Westerville North 4-4 in an absolute thriller. They also split their games against the Olentangy’s, going 1-1-1 against schools within the district, including a 2-2 tie against Olentangy Berlin in the season opening match for the Pioneers, and the first ever regular season sporting match for Berlin. The boys ended with a 3-3-2 record at home and 4-5-1 away from home.
They finished 115th in the state according to Maher rankings, an impressive achievement considering it ranks 1100 teams. They earned this ranking through impressive wins over Gahanna Lincoln and Olentangy.
We’d like to thank coach Jason Bayer and seniors Alex Beck, Joey Brooks, Nolan Brooks, Max Brunke, Nick Daniels, Matt Kaschak and Richie Porrello for their hard work this season and good luck on their futures.
