Boys Varsity Basketball beats Westerville North 61 – 58.
Matt McCollum’s layup with under two minutes left gave host Olentangy Orange (13-9, 4-6) an upset victory over OCC Buckeye division leader Westerville North (18-4, 8-2). McCollum’s basket gave Orange its first lead since the opening quarter and the Pioneers converted nine of 10 free throws in the fourth to preserve the win. Jalen Bethel led the Pioneers in scoring with 18 pts followed by Matt McCollum with 16 pts.

Saturday, February 17th
Swim & Dive District Meet Recap–
The Girls and Boys Teams competed in the 2018 District Championships at Ohio University this past weekend. The teams fought hard to earn a shot at States next weekend in Canton Ohio. The Boy’s 200 Freestyle Relay of Ronak Tripathy , Cullen Dickson, Patrick Mahoney, and Mason Reid finished 6th overall with a new program record of 1:28.65 and earned a spot in the State Meet.
Other Meet Highlights include:
Boy’s 200 Medley Relay of Mason Reid, Nicholas Chugh, Patrick Mahoney, and Ronak Tripathy set a new program record of 1:37.88 and earned 6th place overall.
Boy’s 50 Freestyle – Both Mason Reid and Pat Mahoney broke the program record in the 50 free on Saturday with Mason narrowly edging out Pat with a time of 21.70
Boy’s 100 Freestyle – Mason Reid reset his program record with at time of 47.37 to finish 7th overall.
Girl’s 400 Freestyle Relay- Natalie Johnson, Cassie Coniglio, Kali Butler, and Brooke Farren combined to swim a new program record of 3:46.92 and finished 14th overall.
Girl’s 200 and 500 Free- Natalie Johnson 7th and 6th in the 200 Freestyle and 500 Freestyle. Both times were new in season best times for Natalie.
The Boy’s 200 Free Relay will join divers Luke and Lauren Cheetham in Canton Ohio this week to compete in the 2018 Ohio State Championship.
Orange Girls Varsity Basketball bowed out of the district tournament with a 43-31 loss to 8th seed Hartley. Leading scoring was McKenna Ford with 12 points followed by Riley Duffy with 9. For the season, the girls finished with a 6-17 record. McKenna Ford was one of the bright spots by setting unofficial school record of 60 made 3 pt shots including 8 in one game. The girls banquet will be Tuesday, March 13 at Medallion Country Club.
Sunday, February 18th
Varsity Hockey Update
The Varsity team headed opened up the district tournament with an easy victory over Mason. The final score was 19-0 and was called after the 2nd period. Goals were scored by Danny McHugh, Camden Cush, Michael Foy, Bobby Golias, Josh Gutkoski, Kevin Jones, Tristan Boytar (2), Aaron Johnson, Jackob Lipperman, Cameron Miller (3), Zach Miller (3). Making his Varsity debut, Clayton Headlee not only scored his 1st Varsity goal but also scored his 1st Varsity hat trick!
The boys laced them up again for what turned out to be their final game of the year on Sunday when they lost to St Charles by a score of 5-2. Goals were scored by Tristan Boytar and Bobby Golias.
JV Hockey Update
The JV team lost to St. Xavier on Thursday night by a score of 7-4. The team found themselves down 5-0 after the 1st period but kept grinding and almost made the comeback. Goals were scored by Camden Cush (3) and Blake Messenger.
The teams would like to thank all the students, faculty and parents that attended their games this season for their support!
Our Competition Cheer team competed at OCCs at Pickerington North.
