Friday, January 5th
Girls Varsity Bowling falls to Gahanna Lincoln 2082 – 1923.
The Varsity Girls were in action today against Gahanna Lincoln and came away with a loss today. Raymie Shields with had a team high game of 182 and 149 for a series of 331. McKenzie Peterson had games of games of 165 and 172 for a team high series of 337. Next was Remy Gray with games of 157 and 168 for a series of 325. Emma Storer had a game of 148 and 168 for a series of 316.
Boys Varsity Bowling falls to Gahanna Lincoln 2204 – 2171
The Varsity Boys were in action today against Gahanna Lincoln and came away with a loss today losing by 37 pins. Tommy Ciaciura had games of 203 and 181 for a team high series of 384. Andrew Kicas had a team high game of 209 and 172 for a series of 381. Jaden Wiebell had games of 162 and 172 for a series of 334. Tanner Davidson had games of 167 and 166 for a series of 333. Brendan Tansky had a game of 186.
Boys Junior Varsity Bowling falls to Gahanna Lincoln 2172 – 1595.
The JV Boys were in action today against Gahanna Lincoln and came away with a loss today. They were led by Seth Yu with team high games of 170 and 154 for a team high series of 324. Brandon Webb had games of 149 and 151 for a series of 300. Marcus Turner had games of 130 and 122 for a series of 252.

Boys Basketball falls to Olentangy in Overtime 75-74.
Orange had four players score in double digits but just fell short in ot to Olentangy. McCollum led the way with 20 points followed by Ballinger and Bethel with 17 and 15 respectively.

Boys & Girls Swim & Dive were at Olentangy @ Mt Carmel Health and Fitness
Although both the girls and boys teams lost to Olentangy in their dual meet on Friday 1/5, the following individuals and relays had first place finishes in the meet: boys 200 Medley Relay of Cullen Dickson, Nicholas Chugh, Mason Reid and Ronak Tripathy; Reid in the 200 IM; Agalia Christofi in the girls 500 Free; Tripathy in the boys 500 Free; Reid in the 100 Back; Emma Logan in the girls 100 Breast; Graham Weidenhamer in the boys 100 Breast; and the boys 400 Free Relay of Tripathy, Dickson, Chugh and Reid.

Girls Basketball played at Olentangy.
On Friday the Pioneer girls varsity lost a heart-breaker to Olentangy in the last minute of the game after leading for 31 minutes by a score of 56-50. Leading scoring were Taylor Myers with 19 points and Alyssa Feeley with 12 points.

Saturday, January 6th
Gymnastics was at Central Ohio Gymnastics
The Orange gymnasts had a great meet this Saturday against Sheridan. Sheridan won with a 131.15, however Orange improved their team score by 8 points from their last meet, with a 127.25. Leading the team were Olivia Dieckmann, Grace Ritterspach, and Nicole Carifa. Olivia took first place on bars, 2nd place all around, 4th on beam, 6th on floor, and 7th on vault. Grace placed 3rd on vault and bars, 2nd on floor, 6th on beam, and 3rd all around. Nicole placed 4th on vault, 5th on beam and 3rd on floor. The ladies will compete Friday at their home gym against Liberty, Big Walnut, and Westerville Central.

On Saturday, Anna Grabau’s offensive rebound with 6 secs remaining proved to be the game winner as the Pioneer girls bounced back with an emotional win over Bishop Watterson 43-41. Leading scoring were McKenna Ford with 13 points, Taylor Myers with 10 points, Anna Grabau with 8 points and Alyssa Feeley with 8 points.

Sunday, January 7th
The Pioneers Swim and Dive team took on Olentangy and Liberty Sunday, January 7th. The Girls finished 3rd and the only event winner was Natalie Johnson in the 500 Freestyle. The Boys emerged victorious led by Mason Reid (200 Free), Ronak Tripathy (50 Free), Cullen Dickson (100 Free), Graham Weidenhamer (500 Free), and Nicholas Chugh (100 Breaststroke). Mason, Cullen, Ronak, and Nicholas also teamed up to win the 200 Medley Relay. All teams are back in action tonight against New Albany.

All 8th grade boys interested in playing high school soccer for Olentangy Orange in the fall of 2018 are invited to attend winter sessions every Tuesday and Thursday night, from 6-9pm starting January 16th, 2018. Coaches will be on hand to organize skill development, weight and conditioning sessions. The schedule times will be as follows: skills development from 6-7pm, weight training from 7-8pm and if a gym is available, the boys will play futsal games from 8-9pm.
