The girls track & field team opened the season by winning the 16 team Newark Invitational. The Pioneers scored 107 points to beat runner-up Canal Winchester (86.83 pts) and third place Thomas Worthington (72.5 pts).
Individual Champions for the team included Sr. Hannah Dieker in the 100m hurdles (16.61), Jr. Angel Frye in the Pole Vault (10’0), Fr. Allie Guagenti in the 800m run (2:25.32). The girls 4x400m relay team of Jr. Brynna Johnson, Fr. Grace Frye, Guagenti, and Angel Frye also won in a time of 4:13.72.
Runner-up finishes were turned in by Sr. Ally Cummings in the Shot Put (33’2), Johnson in the High Jump (4’10), Angel Frye in the 200m dash (27.02), and Fr. Lindsay Ott in the 1600m run (5:46.60).
3rd place performances were achieved by Angel Frye in the 100m dash (13.26) and Grace Frye in the Discus (97’1).
Many other individuals contributed valuable 4th-8th places finishes to contribute to the team victory.

The full team will be back this Tuesday, April 5th at Pioneer Stadium versus Marysville and Col. DeSales. Field and running events will start at 5pm.
